A puberty ceremony is one of the most important family celebrations in Tamil culture. Here is how we approach it, and how you can prepare.
Your daughter’s comfort comes first
Before the day we agree with the family which moments to photograph and which to leave private. On the day we keep a respectful distance during the rituals and follow your wishes.
The rituals and the blessings
We cover the ceremony in order, from the preparations to the elders’ blessings, so the film tells the story of the day. Share the timings with us in advance so we are in the right place at the right time.
Portraits that last
Allow some time for portraits of your daughter in her saree and with the family. Natural light near a doorway or garden gives soft, flattering photos.
For relatives abroad
Many families stream the ceremony live so relatives overseas can give their blessings too. Ask about live streaming when you book.
How to prepare
- book three to four weeks ahead, or earlier for popular dates
- send us the schedule and the venue location
- make a short list of the family group photos you want
- keep a quiet room available for portraits
What you receive
A sneak peek within three days, edited photos within two weeks and the full film within four weeks, followed by your printed album.
